Crystal Fighters

Recently discovered the Spanish group Crystal Fighters and the more we listen, the more it grows on us. The group is quite eclectic, and their recently released album seems to span various genres of music. At one point, you are listening to a mellow guitar fused with electro beats, and the next you are banging to some spanish dub. The following two songs are very different, but we think you'll like them both.

We recommend you start the weekend with our filthy new German friends, Erik Venhues and Marvin Hell of Electrixx. Their 2009 track, "Tetris" hit #1 on Beatport #1 and Trackitdown (see why below), and they continue to be fucking awesome with their creatively titled track, "This Music," which dropped on Beatport last week. For all those fans of super bitichin' dicso house comes, Morbroder. A perferable tripod inbreed super group that consists of Naeem Juwan (aka MC Spank Rock), NYC's Blu Jemz and LA's DJ Hoff. As of now there is no plans for a release date in the future but Blu Jemz states, "Hoff and i have been working on a Mix CD with Spank Rock, whic is basically like the trials and tribulations of the Black Moroder, I think it's gonna be epic, so of course it's taking forever." I guess for now we will have to settle for these two hot fire tracks.

Little known fact, in 2006 the  21 year old french DJ Surkin had one of the biggest club hits in the world. Well now hes back and he's  teamed up with Australian producers, Light Year. Not sure when the release date of the rest of the album is, but we'll be waiting anxiously. For now check out the first track that has been released

Meet Holy Ghost!, a disco breaking, shaker shaking, baby music making duo from Yonkers. These two childhood friends have been getting a lot of buzz lately from their latest EP, Static on the Wire, and its well deserved. The four track EP may seem a little light but let us assure you its not. This mash of analog style synth drifts, funky bass, and catchy hooks will have you playing the tracks repetitively on that fancy tape player yours.
